Founded in 2012 by Ray DeLaughter, VantageCFO was born out of a clear need in the small to medium-sized business market: accessible, high-quality financial leadership without the cost of a full-time CFO. With experience in Deloitte Consulting’s Mergers & Acquisitions group and as a small business owner, Ray recognized that while many businesses require the expertise of a seasoned CFO, few can afford one. His unique blend of corporate and entrepreneurial experience shaped his approach to offering fractional CFO services, bringing Fortune 500-level insights to smaller organizations seeking structure and strategic guidance.
In the early days, the biggest challenge was simply market awareness. Fractional CFO services were relatively unknown, and most business owners were unaware such a solution existed. However, as the concept of the gig economy grew, especially after the COVID pandemic, the demand for flexible, part-time CFO expertise surged. VantageCFO quickly became a trusted name, known for delivering quality finance and accounting solutions that help businesses feel in control and confident in their decision-making.
